D24 Chaturvimsamsa — Education — what this divisional chart is read for, how the division is computed, and why the birth time decides it.
How to read this square
- The diamond at the top centre is always the 1st house — the lagna.
- From there the houses run anticlockwise: 1, 2, 3 and so on.
- In a real chart the number written in each compartment is the SIGN, not the house — the house is known from its position. That is why the numbers in a printed kundli look out of order.
- The shape never changes. Only the signs and the planets in it do.

The D24 (Chaturvimsamsa) divides each sign into 24 parts and rebuilds the whole chart from those parts. It is read for education and learning. A planet can look strong in the birth chart and weak here, and that is the point: the birth chart shows the promise, the divisional chart shows whether it is delivered.
How it is computed
Each 30° sign is cut into 24 equal parts of 1.25° each, and each part is mapped to a sign by the rule for this varga. Your planet's exact degree decides which part it falls in — which is why the birth TIME matters: a few minutes moves a planet across a boundary and the whole D24 changes.
