Antardasha Timeline

Antardasha Timeline — how the 120-year Vimshottari cycle is divided, which graha runs when, and how long each period lasts.
0What this is
An antardasha is the period inside the mahadasha — the second graha, which colours what the first one is doing. A Jupiter antardasha inside a Saturn mahadasha is not a Jupiter period; it is Saturn's period with Jupiter's hand on it.
How it is worked out
The arithmetic is proportion, not a table. Each graha's share of a period is its own years divided by 120, times the length of the period it sits inside. Venus inside Saturn: 20 ÷ 120 × 19 years = about 3.2 years. The nine antardashas of a mahadasha always run in the same order as the mahadashas themselves, starting from the mahadasha lord's own.
The nine periods, in order
They always run in this order and always add to 120 years.

If you want to act on this
A remedy in jyotish is an act, not a purchase — a fast, a mantra, a donation on the right weekday. Where a formal ritual is called for, these are the three that apply: a puja performed on your behalf, a chadhawa offered at the temple, or an abhimantrit article energised with the mantra of the planet involved.
Not sure what this means for your own chart?
Ask the astrologer — it reads your chart, not a general rule, and answers in plain words.
