Raja Yogas Present
Last updated
Raja Yogas Present — the lordship rule these yogas are formed by, and which house lords make them in your chart.
0The rule
A raja yoga is formed when the lord of a kendra — the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th — and the lord of a trikona — the 1st, 5th or 9th — come together: conjunct, in each other's signs, aspecting each other, or exchanged.
What it actually decides
The 1st house belongs to both families, which is why its lord makes a raja yoga with more planets than any other and why a strong ascendant lord matters more than any single yoga. A yoga formed by the lords of the 6th, 8th or 12th does the opposite, however well placed those lords are.

If you want to act on this
A remedy in jyotish is an act, not a purchase — a fast, a mantra, a donation on the right weekday. Where a formal ritual is called for, these are the three that apply: a puja performed on your behalf, a chadhawa offered at the temple, or an abhimantrit article energised with the mantra of the planet involved.

Ask the astrologer — it reads your chart, not a general rule, and answers in plain words.
Common questions
- How is a raja yoga formed?
- A raja yoga is formed when the lord of a kendra — the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th — and the lord of a trikona — the 1st, 5th or 9th — come together: conjunct, in each other's signs, aspecting each other, or exchanged.
- Does having one guarantee the result?
- No. A yoga says the combination exists; whether it delivers depends on the strength of the two lords and on the dasha of one of them running. An unaspected yoga between two weak lords, in a period neither of them owns, is a line in a report and nothing more.
