What this is

Vimshottari is the dasha system these reports are timed with. It divides a life into nine periods, one for each graha, totalling 120 years — and which one you are born into is decided by the nakshatra the Moon occupied at birth, not by the Sun or the ascendant. That is why two people born the same day, hours apart, can be running different dashas for their whole lives.

How it is worked out

The order never changes: Ketu → Venus → Sun → Moon → Mars → Rahu → Jupiter → Saturn → Mercury, and it wraps round. Where it starts is the lord of the birth nakshatra, and how much of that first dasha is left depends on how far the Moon had already travelled through it — a Moon at the end of its nakshatra begins life with only a few months of that dasha remaining.

The nine periods, in order

They always run in this order and always add to 120 years.

If you want to act on this

A remedy in jyotish is an act, not a purchase — a fast, a mantra, a donation on the right weekday. Where a formal ritual is called for, these are the three that apply: a puja performed on your behalf, a chadhawa offered at the temple, or an abhimantrit article energised with the mantra of the planet involved.
