What a dosha is

A dosha is a named combination that puts strain on one area of life. It is not a verdict and it is not permanent: almost every classical dosha has cancellation clauses written into the same texts that define it, and the engine checks those before it reports anything. 14 are checked in every chart, and a chart carrying none is unusual rather than lucky — most people carry one or two at low severity and never notice.

How severity is scored

Each dosha is scored out of 100 rather than reported as present or absent, because present-or-absent is what makes a chart frightening for no reason. Below 30 the combination exists on paper and asks for nothing. The cancellations are applied first, so a score is what is left after them — not before.

Every dosha this engine checks

Manglik Dosha

All seven planets hemmed on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis. What the chart is saying, and the classical remedies.
Sade Sati
What Sade Sati actually is, its three phases, when yours runs, and what the classical texts advise.

The 'cursed' combination

Grahan Dosha
The eclipse combination in a birth chart
Vish Yoga
Also called Chandra dosha. What the Moon–Saturn conjunction indicates, and how the texts advise handling it.
Kemadruma Dosha
No planet on either side of the Moon. What that means for the mind, and what cancels it.
Paap Kartari Yoga
When a house or planet is scissored between two malefics. How it is judged and what it restricts.
Shakat Yoga
The cart-wheel yoga
Gandmool Nakshatra
The six gandanta nakshatras, why birth in one is flagged, and the shanti the texts prescribe.
Daridra Yoga
A yoga quoted far more often than it is checked. What forms it, what it does not mean, and how it is read.

If you want to act on this

A remedy in jyotish is an act, not a purchase — a fast, a mantra, a donation on the right weekday. Where a formal ritual is called for, these are the three that apply: a puja performed on your behalf, a chadhawa offered at the temple, or an abhimantrit article energised with the mantra of the planet involved.

Not sure what this means for your own chart?

Ask the astrologer — it reads your chart, not a general rule, and answers in plain words.

Common questions

How many doshas are checked in a kundli?
14 in every chart, each scored out of 100 after its cancellation clauses have been applied.
Is a dosha permanent?
No. Most classical doshas have cancellation clauses in the same texts that define them, and severity below 30 asks for nothing at all.
